Our school partners with the Arvada Skate City several times during the school year to provide a fun after-school activity while also raising money for our school. A portion of every entrance fee is donated back to the school during each of our designated sessions. Below are a few frequently asked questions about how the event works:
1. Who can attend the Skate City event?
Skate City is open to all students, ECE – 8th grade, but students in ECE-2nd grade will need to be accompanied at Skate City by a parent or guardian. You don’t need to sign up or turn in any permission slips, just come to Skate City at 2:00 p.m. and have fun!
2. How much does it cost?
Admission is $4.50 and regular skate rental is an additional $2.00. You and/or your child will pay at the entrance to Skate City, no money is turned in or collected in advance. If your child is riding the Skate City Fun Bus, they will still need to bring their entrance fee with them on Friday and pay at the entrance.
3. What is the Skate City Fun Bus?
Skate City provides us with a bus for those children in Grades 3-8 (and younger siblings with an older sibling in 3-8 who is also riding the bus) to be picked up at the school and ride to Skate City for the session. The permission slip must be filled out and turned in by Tuesday, November 15 if your child(ren) are to ride the bus to Skate City. If your child is riding the bus, make sure they have their entrance fee with them when they come to school on Friday!
4. How does my child catch the bus?
A parent chaperone will collect the bus permission slips from the office and gather the children that are riding the bus at the Miller Street pick-up circle at 1:40 p.m. Each child will be checked off and loaded onto the bus.
5. When and where do I pick up my child if they rode the bus?
Please pick up your child from Skate City Arvada (5353 W 64th Ave) at 4:00 p.m. There will be NO bus back to Mountain Phoenix.
