With the physical limitations our school faces, carpooling is a great way to reduce the number of vehicles coming to campus daily.
Our family participates in a part-time carpool, and it has been such a positive experience for us. Four days a week, our family does morning drop off, and her family does afternoon pick-up. At the beginning of the school year, we met each other’s classroom teachers so that they would be familiar with our arrangement. We have a mutual understanding that if one of our children is sick and staying home, the carpool is “off” for that day. It has been wonderful! Even one or two days a week is a big deal when it means you don’t have to wake up napping siblings to do school pickup.
Secret Insider Tip: The Traffic Committee is discussing ways to incentivize carpooling for next year, but it’s never too late to start eyeballing your neighbors for potential carpooling buddies.
