Both eighth grade classes are in the Solid Geometry block, working, among other tasks, to construct the five pure Platonic Solids – tetrahedron, octahedron, hexahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron from both paper and plasticine. Students have learned about recreational mathematics, the ideal we can create in our minds vs. the reality of matter in our hands, and much more.
