The Mountain Phoenix Community School Annual Book Fair is a beloved event 
where EVERY student in our school will be able to choose their own BRAND NEW BOOK to take home and enjoy. 
If you’ve been a part of Mountain Phoenix in years past, you’ve probably heard about the joy that this event brings! 

We are excited to bring back the book fair again this year – and will need your help to make it a great experience for our kids! 

PAGE 1: Classroom Visits

Sponsored by Family Council and brought right to our school thanks to a partnership with Second Star to the Right Bookstore. During the week of the fair, a variety of new books will be displayed, and students will attend with their class to choose their very own age-appropriate book. 

PAGE 2: Community Night

Stop by the Community Night sponsored by JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity Committee) on 

Tuesday, March 11, from 3:30-6:30 

Please join the school community and greater community for an evening of imagination and collaboration. We will have graphic novel storyboard pages for creators of all ages to bring their stories to life thanks to a generous grant from the Wheat Ridge Cultural Commission. Our guest for the evening is veteran early reading specialist and librarian, Mary Kuehner. Mary is also open about integrating synesthesia in her life and shares about how her neuro-atypical brain has been helpful in her career. The evening is a chance to shop the school’s Book Fair outside of normal hours, enjoy a popcorn bar + desserts, create together, learn together, and connect with our school community.

Optional Book Fair Fee

At the beginning of the school year, many Mountain Phoenix families have already seen and paid the optional Book Fair Fee in Infinite Campus. To make this event possible, we ask that each family (that is able) to provide $15 per student, which covers the cost of the book each child will take home. Our goal is to ensure that every child experiences the joy of selecting their own book and feels the support of our community. 

Make an Angel Donation!

 To help make this a reality and a sustainable event for all students, we are also collecting Angel Donations to support those whose families may not be able to contribute. Every $15 will provide one new book for a student in our school. Help share the gift of reading by stopping by the Front Office and making an Angel Donation with credit or cash. You can also Venmo our Family Council Book Fair Chair in any amount to be put towards our Angel Donations.

Our goal is to raise $11,600 in order to provide each student with a book and ensure we can continue this event long into the future.
