As you may have heard, the Environmental Services Department of JeffCo Schools has been sampling water in all of their buildings this summer. Here at MPCS we also have been testing our water at our own expense, using the same Colorado Analytical Labs. I am pleased to say that all samples that we collected from this campus, around 50, were below EPA action levels!
While no regulations exist regarding the levels of lead in school drinking water, the EPA strongly recommends that schools take action on fixtures that may be used as drinking water and have greater than 20 ppb of lead.
District Communications is reaching out to communities where results are found over 15 ppb, but will not directly reach out to your community since all of the results at your school were less than 15 ppb.
