Encaustic (Hot Wax Painting) Class (Grades 7, 8, and Parents) – 4/14

HAVE YOU EVER PAINTED WITH HOT BEESWAX? WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN HOW?

In this basic introduction to working with hot wax you will learn how to lay down the wax without air bubbles (using a heat gun) and get a smooth finish. We will also layer images between the wax layers and learn how to carve into your wax layers.

I will provide materials (beeswax with oil paint, magazines to layer and oil pastels, Masonite boards).

Students would have time to create 1-2 paintings.

Open to 7th and 8th graders as well as adults.

NO prior painting experience necessary. This is going to be a very fun class!

$55 per person for the one class.

2 hour class – 6:30-8:30pm.

Two dates offered: Thursday March 16th and Friday April 14th from 6:30-8:30 pm.
