School culture is created with community by sharing a common goal of modeling for our children the sense of inclusiveness with simple acts of being good humans. The school then becomes a gathering place with festivals, events and celebrations that flow with they rhythm of each season. The bonds that are created continue to strengthen our communal efforts that bring forth our children’s desire to make positive change in the world.
The natural consequence of engaged parents and caregivers is more invested children. When students are encouraged to interact and take part in the community, they are able to experience first hand how their work has an effect on the lives of others. It’s a beautiful cycle!
A healthy social life is found only when, in the mirror of each soul, the whole community finds its reflection, and when, in the whole community, the virtue of each one is living.

Volunteering at Lively Arts
At Lively Arts, we embrace the spirit of community and collaboration, recognizing the invaluable contributions of our dedicated volunteers. Our festivals committee plays a pivotal role in creating enriching experiences for our students, parents, and educators alike. Volunteering with us means becoming an essential part of the vibrant tapestry that makes our educational environment unique.
The festivals committee is a dynamic group of individuals who share a passion for holistic learning, cultural appreciation, and the Waldorf philosophy. Together, we work towards planning and executing memorable events that celebrate the changing seasons, fostering a deep connection with nature and each other.
If you are interested in being a part of this collaborative effort, we welcome you to join our community of volunteers. Your involvement with the festivals committee not only enhances the overall experience for our students but also strengthens the bonds within our Waldorf homeschool community.
Throughout the year, the program celebrates several Waldorf-inspired festivals.
In the Fall, we celebrate Michaelmas, and Harvest Festival and participate in Lantern Walk and Spiral of Light Walk in the Winter.
In the Spring, we celebrate Candlemas, and the semester culminates in our May Faire celebration.
The festivals are an opportunity for celebration, a chance to revel in the joy of the season – be it in reverence or jubilation – to bring gifts of food or quiet presence, but always to bring with gratitude, joy, and goodness.
