May Faire & Grandparents Day – 5/5

May Faire & Grandparents Day – 5/5

mayfairephoto.jpgAs the flowers and animals awaken from their winter’s sleep, the community gathers to celebrate spring with music and dancing with colorful ribbons at the May Faire.

Grandparents’ Day is a wonderful tradition that gives our elders the opportunity to be part of our beautiful May Faire celebration. Equally important, it allows our students to show their gratitude and appreciation for the precious role that their elders play in their lives.

Mountain Phoenix Community School’s May Faire and Grandparents Day will be held on Friday, May 5 this year. These events are celebrated with a welcome breakfast for our elders, flower crown construction in the classrooms, and Maypole dances.

We are excited to welcome grandparent’s and significant elders to our Mountain Phoenix and give them the opportunity to experience MPCS school culture and be a part of our beautiful May Faire celebration.

The schedule of events for the day will allow elders to be with children in the classrooms and also witness the May Pole Ceremony.  Pre-K and Kindergarten will be providing special marionette puppet play for children and their elders to enjoy and dancing around their own May Pole.

The schedule was designed to try and accommodate those elders with children in multiple grades so please feel free to rotate between activities and classrooms as needed. Please make sure all grandparents and elders know teacher names for the classes they need to visit so we can direct everyone where they need to go!
